Internationally acclaimed dance event Made in Mykanos came back to Cape Town, South Africa for their epic year end season party, catering to the rich and powerful at the Camps Bay Bungalow beach cafe. ULTRA supplied and operated a full audio and lighting solution for the evening, under strict covid and noise pollution guidelines. JBL VERTEC vt 4886 clusters were flown off of a truss structure, supplemented by JBL VERTEC vt 4883 subs, JBL vrx932LAP for sidefills, and additional JBL prx715 15’ speakers where deployed as outfill speakers.
Luxottica – the leading umbrella brand for couture sunglasses held press days to reveal their new collections to the public and press. ULTRA was tasked with providing LCD screens for advertising and logo loops, as well as a flattering lighting solution to highlight and promote the glasses on offer. we thank (AUNTY VIV) for her continued support and entrusting ULTRA to provide technical solutions for all their high-stakes events.
Ultra partnered with AudioPimps to supply a staging and PA solution for the series of events held at Nooitgedaght wine estate over the 2021 summer. Various South African artists played to a crowd ready for live entertainment, on a beautiful lawn in the Stellenbosch wine lands. ULTRA provided a scalable d&b V series line array system with B22 subwoofers, and a Prolyte stage with a drum riser.
The idea behind the RX Radio Youth Music Festival was to bring the youth of Cape Town together in a five-hour festival. The performances were primarily made up of youth acts, between the ages of 11 and 25, as well as some special guests. This was a great way to show off some of the young upcoming talent, including skits, magicians, DJs, comedians, singers and bands. The main focus was on the youth and thus, as much planning, organizing and marketing as possible was done by RX Radio Young Reporters, who make up the core festival committee. The inaugural RX Radio Youth Music Festival was an unbelievable experience and one that will be remembered for a long time to come. ULTRA Events assisted the organizing committee with a comprehensive technical solution to enhance the performers performance.
The Saggy Stone Beer and Music Festival took place for its third year on 9 February 2019. This annual event was hosted on the beautiful Amandalia farm, where the Saggy Stone Brewing Company is situated. ULTRA was once again entrusted with the stage and technical aspects of the concert, which featured Karen Zoid, Francois van Coke, Jack Parow, The Kiffness and Freshlyground. Back line, PA, and Lighting requirements were all met, with a compliment of staff to ensure the smooth running of the festival.
ULTRA was tasked with the full technical production of the Pop Bottles event which was held at The Grand Beach Cafe. A D&B V series sound system was the chosen solution for audio reproduction of the various DJ’s as well as live acts, KO and Ricky Rick. Martin lighting fixtures were used along with CO2 cannons and sparkulars cold pyro on the special effects side. An impressive video design using 6mm LED video screens was created to complete the stage.
ULTRA events continued their relationship with Cape Towns’ biggest dedicated comic convention, bringing comic book creators and cosplay artists together. Established in 2016, Fancon hosted their fourth annual event and returned for a fun-filled fan experience at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. ULTRA supplied AV, Lighting and Audio solutions for various rooms, and technical crew were on hand to assist with the panel discussions, presentations, cosplay competitions and more.
ULTRA Events was tasked with providing a technical solution for the Pick ‘n Pay Wine festival, held at the beautiful Constantia Village Shopping mall. A JBL sound system was used with a Midas M32R mixing console for audio control. Entertainment was provided by Liam Culbert who kept the crowd entertained and dancing the evening away. Versalight UHP Parcans were utilised to uplight architectural elements throughout. The event saw 10 of Constantia’s top wineries showcase their products, along with Pick n Pay’s delicious winter steaks, curries, deli, seafood and vegetarian offerings, perfectly paired with the evening’s wines.
Alcazar, Cape Town’s introductory inner city New Year’s Eve party, was bought to you by Bazique Festival & Wolfkop Weekender, and produced by Lucky Fish. It was an amazing outdoor/indoor venue in the shadow of Table Mountain, in the heart of the city. The city’s undisputed masters of art-immersive and experiential partying collaborated and brought you a NYE experience never to be forgotten. ULTRA was on hand to assist with a JBL line array sound system, Robe intelligent lighting, Christie projectors, Pioneer DJ gear, crew and MA lighting control.
ULTRA Events was proud to be part of the annual Memorial Day held at the Red Cross Children’s Hospital. Ultra provided a JBL PRX sound system spread across the entrance of the hospital along with Soundcraft audio control. This Annual Day of Remembrance is held at the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital in Cape Town. It commemorates the World War II South African servicemen and veterans who donated two days of their pay towards what was to become the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital.
